University of Auckland Research Into Kawakawa

Although we sell dried kawakawa leaves for culinary use, or to make your own tea, some people might be interested in modern research looking into any health benefits from to support its traditional use by Maori people in New Zealand.

Researchers from the University of Auckland have been looking into more than 60 active compounds found in kawakawa, and trying to quantify their health effects.
